FAQ - Humidity
Question: What is the range of humidity the plant is use to and what temperature range? I am putting some in a vivarium with the humidity around 80-90% plus the amount of water needed. I mist once or twice a day.
Answer: If the humidity range is actually in the 80-90% range you may not need to add much water at all. African violets in nature commonly grow in a range of 30-60% humidity with temperatures ranging from the low 60's to the upper 70's Fahrenheit. At high humidity, fungus diseases are more likely to thrive, especially in an enclosed environment. I would suggest trying just one African violet in the vivarium to see how it does for a few months before you try more. Happy Growing! Joyce Stork
