following table lists Russian African violet varieties. This list was compiled
and provided to us by Ирина
Лаврентьева
(Irina Lavrentieva). We are grateful for her efforts in providing us with this
information.
(The
transliterated names are to be read as follows: "a" - [a]; i - [i:];
o - [o]; u - [u]; e - [e] as in “bell” after consonants and [ie] as in “yes”
after vocals; "y" - [i] as in “bee” before vocals, [i] as in “boy”
after vocals, and [ы] after consonants ([ы] sounds close to [i] as
in “bill”).
